sydney j. stone

Kidlit illustrator, dog mom, gamer, and a lover of breakfast foods.

From growing up in a small town in Western Pennsylvania, to studying animation at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) - Sydney has now built a name for herself as a freelance illustrator in the Charleston suburb of Summerville, SC. This name was built over time by creating illustrated posters for the local theater scene, including the Flowertown Players and the local middle and high schools. Most recently she was found illustrating and designing two self-published books.

Sydney has been creating illustrated stories for as long as she can recall, starting with those drawn on computer paper - clumsily stapled together in her dad's office. She has since upgraded to the digital space and regularly makes use of Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, and Procreate. One day she might even figure out 3D!

When not hunched over her iPad or Cintiq, Sydney can be found: tending to her fish and bearded dragon, debating with her husband about who's the best romance option in Mass Effect (it's Garrus), or falling asleep on the couch along with her 3 dogs.
